1959 Chevy Pickup

Not every full build that comes through the shop gets show quality paint and body. Some just have the right character and patina to justify a coat of matte clear to preserve it. This 1959 Chevy Pickup is one of those examples.

The ’59 Chevy came to the shop with specific goals in mind: full air ride chassis to drop it low, new reliable drivetrain, a few creature comforts, and retain the original character.   The chassis is from Total Cost Involved (TCI) with and independent front suspension and features Ridetech Shockwaves on all 4 corners. The engine is a Chevrolet Performance crate 350ci Deluxe (330HP/380ft.lbs) with a 700R4 automatic overdrive behind it.  The exhaust starts with a set of ceramic coated Sanderson Headers and flows through a full custom exhaust. The 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes are tucked behind a set of Foose wheels (Front – 18 x 8  Rear – 20 x 8) wrapped in Toyo tires (Front – 255/45R18  Rear – 255/50R20).

After a few spots of rust repair and a new roof, the ’59 Chevy Pickup headed to the paint shop for clear. The repaired spots were touched up and prepped and the entire body got a coat of PPG matte clear. The bed received a solid oak bed wood kit from MAR-K that sits atop the No Limit Engineering aluminum gas tank. To finish it off, the interior got an ididit tilt column and a set of Dakota Digital gauges.
