1941 Clark Ford Truck
Owner: Randy Clark
The one that started it all
This truck is close to the heart of Hot Rod’s and Custom Stuff owner Randy Clark. Purchased and restored as a Christmas gift for P.W. Clark in the 70’s this truck has been given a new life with a second restore and purpose…
“This truck was built as a clone of a 1941 pickup my dad purchased and drove from 1950 to 1970. It was red with yellow wheels and could get up to 90 mph in second gear. It had a “hot rod” flathead and it was Dad’s truck, and if it at all possible I would ride “shot gun”. It is this truck that has inspired my love for cars all these years. Time passed and the old ’41 eventually was abandoned to sit in my folks ranch for many years-replaced by a 1970 Ford Ranchero which became my Dad’s daily driver and the old ’41 became a distant memory. Few years later my dad was diagnosed with cancer and the prognosis was not good. One day while visiting my dad at the family ranch he mentioned that he wished his old ’41 pickup was running because he had really enjoyed driving it. My dad had never asked or even hinted that he wished to have his old ’41 running again. I called up my brother and we quickly hatched a plan to find a ’41 pickup and restore it as a Christmas present for our dad. Luckily it was August so we had time. we found a ’41 up in Chino California picked it up and began our quest to make it roadworthy.”
