Setting a Silver Dollar Standard...
To create a silver dollar, you start with a "blank".
As metaphors go, that appropriate, because we are doing the same sort of
thing here. We are going to start with bare metal after-market parts and
strike them into a "Silver Dollar".
We start with a Dearborne Deuce convertible top body, set
it on a Deuce Steel frame, add some fenders from California Roadster Co.,
throw in a 572ci Chevy crate motor, and strike repeatedly with hammer and
die. If all goes well we'll have something that will make your eyes open
as wide as when you were a kid and got your first shiney silver dollar from
grandpa at Christmas.
Work starts on the frame jig where we start fabricating a
custom Deuce Steel frame.

Up front, the frame is four-inches longer than stock. It needs
to be for the big block motor that will be going in. The frame is notched
in at the rear to accomodate the wide wheels that will be going in back.
