Bodywork
The metal work is done and now it's time get it ready for
paint. The care and attention to detail paid during this process will make
or break the final paint work. You can't build a house on a bad foundation,
and you can't create a show quality paint job on one either.
The plastic/epoxy based filler is thinly applied (in combination
with epoxy primer) to all the metal surfaces once any surface rust is removed.
The primer and filler seal the metal to prevent future rust. The filler
is sanded to create smooth surface for the paint--a process that may require
several light applications of filler followed by sanding.
Randy checks the body to see if it is it is ready for the
paint shop.
Once the bodyshop crew is done with the body, it goes over
to the paint shop. There, it goes through a final prep for paint, which
includes some fine sanding and preparation of the surface.
