The projects we take on here at Hot Rods come to us in various stages of completion. Some come to us straight out of a farmer's "back 40" where it has been sitting for decades. Some from customers who have done much of the work themselves, but have reached a point where they no longer have the time or expertise to complete the job. Others are brought to us by customers who have become dissatisfied with the work being done by another shop. This 1968 Camaro was brought to us from another shop that, for various reasons, was not performing to the vehicle owners expectations. This is what it looked like when it was brought in. When it leaves, it should look something like the artists rendition at the top of the page.
The motor is a small-block Chevy bored and stroked to 427c.i. Forged and coated 14:1 pistions are connected 6" H-beam "Eagle" rods. A pair of Dart aluminum cylinder heads cover the hand-ported and polished valves (208 intake, 160 exhaust), and competition, small-base, solid rollers (270/266 duration at .50 and .689/.681 lift). Included in this package are Magnum roller rockers, competition girdles, rev kit, heavy-duty valve springs, 1000cfm Holley carburetor, and MSD distributor, coil and ignition box.
