Al's 1928 Ford Pickup Truck
If this 1928 Ford looks a little incomplete to you, that's
because it is. The owner of this sweet little Roadster PU hails from Florida,
and after seeing our Deuce Steel Chassis in
Street Rodder, decided that the pickup he wanted to build would have to
sit on one. So we got to work building his frame while he picked out Brookville
Roadster body which we ordered and had shipped to the shop.
But Al didn't want us to have all the fun on his roadster.
He had us stop at the point where he had a rolling chassis with body. In
part, this is because of the many mods he wanted, which we had the know-how
to do. In addition to the custom hood which was fabricated here, we modified
the bed and the floor of the Brookville body.
We also added louvers to the tailgate.
From here on out, Al gets to do-it-himself.
That cool looking windshield frame is a reproduction Duke
Hallock job that was made here in California. When it arrived it came as
two pieces split down the center and each piece was a very rough casting
that had to be fit in place. Click the link below to read the Street Rodder
article on this windshield.
