Hands On The Wheel....
In order to preserve leg space under the dash, it was decided
to install a short, polished aluminum, ididit tilt-column directly through
the dash.
To mount the column we fabricated a clamp which was then welded
to the backside of the dash. The shaft then extends down to a Borgeson "Sidewinder"
off-set with the help of a couple Flaming River Double-D U-joints.
The off-set is now hidden between the firewall panels.
From the engine-side firewall, a double-d shaft extends to
the steering box with a u-joint at each end.
