1955 Ford Thunderbird. For Sale.
1955 Ford Thunderbird. Excellent original condition. Automatic
transmission, black exterior, black/white interior, black soft top (only).
Runs and drives extremely well.
New brakes, new WSW radial tires (including spare), new Bilstein
shocks, new exhaust. Older but serviceable paint, no rust.
Original 6-volt electrical system with Optima battery. Power
windows, power steering, power brakes, power seat. This is not a show car,
but an excellent driver.
A previous owner must have had a friend with a chrome shop
because there's a ton of stuff chromed under the hood: fan shroud, fan,
heart fan and ducting, power brake booster, master cylinder, T-bird aluminum
valve covers, oil bath air cleaner, brackets, linkage, and more.
This car spent part of its former life in Europe. It's got
a car show plaque from Norway glued to the dash, and I've got a letter from
FoMoCo to a past owner in England stating that the car has a 312 CI engine.
I doubt the truth of that (I bet it's a 292 like all other 55 TBirds), but
that's what Mr. Ford said. I haven't had the engine apart to verify the
bore and stroke.
