The Lap of Luxury
If you recall, the Chrysler C-300 was eesentially a luxury
car (the Chrysler New Yorker/Imperial), with high-performance drivtrain
added to the package. That luxury is easy to see here. A wide, comfortable,
electrically adjusted bench seat; lots of leg room; power windows; the works.
The interior has been kept stock, except for the substituion of fine leather
for factory vynl.
A tachometer was added and affixed to the steering column
so it could be easily read and not interfere with the drivers view of the
stock gauge sets.
This car can seat six adults in comfort.
While the windows retain the original crank handles, they
are all electric powered.
The Dash has been kept stock, except for the addition of a
small panel below the center portion for some additional guages (oil temp,
water temp, transmission temp). On the right is a good view of the flip
down radio face.
The shifter on the C-300 is on the dash (left). Because the
new 727 Torqueflite has a different shift pattern, we had to make a new
shift plate from scratch and then chrome to look like the original. The
Original only had four positions (from top to bottom), R-N-D-L. The new
transmission is also equipped with a Gear Vendors overdrive.
