Basic Black
Nothing too fancy down here. The car was under-coated with
black, rubber-based undercoat to match the black paint on the frame and
suspension parts. The exhaust exits from a set of custom headers built by
Robert Butler from 2-1/8-inch pipe into 3-1/2-inch collectors. the Flowmaster
mufflers aren't much to look at, so we made a pair of polished steel shrouds
that snap on and off.
The transmission is a 727 Torqueflite w/ Gear Vendors overdrive.
Up front the ride is softened by standard GM coil springs helped by a pair
of QA-1 adjustable shocks.
QA-1 adjustables are used in the rear to support the Eaton
Detroit Spring 2-inch drop leafs. Traction bars help keep both rear wheels
on the ground.
Chromed tips top off the exhaust. Halogen back-up lights keep
them from getting banged up (hopefully).
A new stainless steel tank from Rock Valley will hold the
92+ octane fuel this beast will drink.
