Chevrolet 3100 / SSR - Air Ride Shock Installation
Up front, the stock SSR has standard coilover shocks. These
will be replaced with the Air Ride air bag set-up.
In back, the SSR has shocks and coil springs, but they're
mounted independently. The factory shocks will stay and the coil springs,
mounted inboard of the frame rails, will be exchanged for a pair of Air
Ride bags.
A few of the components that go with the Air Ride system.
The air tank (left) and the air valve body.
Ron welds a mounting tab for the tank.
OK, where'd that plumbing diagram go....
The rear airbags are kind of hard to see, so we added a big
white arrow to the photo to help you locate them. No trouble spotting those
factory shocks though.
