Transmission Tunnel Construction
The next step on the flooring is the transmission tunnel.
the transmission itself is a Gear Star 4L80E Level 4 set up for a big block
Hemi.
Most transmission tunnels are content to be just an inconspicuous
hump running down the centerline of the floor. Not ours.
The tunnel mounted center consol, besides looking cool, will
provide a location to mount various switches. The rocker switches will control
windows, the exhaust cutouts and the electric e-brake from Creative Controls.
One of the two top switches forward of the Lokar shifter will
control the electric e-brake (right), and the other will control the exhaust
cut-outs. The 4-row of switches are for the windows, along with an extra
pair at the rear of the consol that the backseat passengers can use.
A look underneath. The driveshaft loop and tubes for the exhaust
are built into the frame to allow for the desired minimum ground clearance.
