Vintage Air Front Runner Installation
This ZZ502 Big Block will be our first test subject. the first
step is to remove the old water pump.
Replacing the old water-pump bolts are four stud bolts. The
end with the shorter, coarser threads will thread into the block. Be sure
to use thread sealer on the threads and seat them firmly.
Once the studs are installed go ahead and slip the water pump
into place.
Install the small spacer and the power steering mount on the
lower left water pump stud. Assemble with the two stand-offs bolted to the
lower block next to the harmonic balancer.
Install spacer on upper water pump stud and insert bolt through
the top bracket hole from rear. This is best done before installing the
bracket. Then, slide the main support bracket onto the water pump studs.
