Braces Keep it Straight.
Before the body can be removed from the frame it must be braced
to keep it from twisting or distorting while it is being worked on. This
is especially important with a convertible that has no roof to provide rigidity.
In this case, the floor is the only structural connection between the front
and rear portions of the body.
3/4-inch steel bar is welded into place, front to rear, side
to side, and diagonaly.
The bars are spot-welded in place. Later the welds will be
cut through with a grinding disc to remove the braces.
Because the floor boards will be removed, space to work is
a consideration when placing braces.
