The fun part...
Wiring, every rodders nightmare. But in this case it's not
so bad as it looks. Painless Wiring's kits make things as painless as possible
(unless you're color blind and then you're on your own). But we swear by
their kits. If we can make sense of them, anyone can. This one is 12 circuit
GM kit.
Under the dash is a Vintage Air ComPac Gen II AC unit with
heat and defrost and pro control unit.
All the plumbing is checked along with the wiring.
Gotta Show braided hoses and polished fittings were used for
the AC. You can see them coming out of the passenger side of the firewall.
This sharp looking dash/gauge combo is a new offering from
Dakota Digital. Called the RET-2000, it is designed to resemble a slotted
Halibrand wheel, and does a credible job of it. This all-in-one unit is
easy to install and the micro-processor controls every function on the dash.
Standard functions include performance calculations (quarter-mile time and
speed), adjustable brightness control, adjustable speed to compensate for
tire size and gearing, and Dakota's exclusive warning flasher that causes
the readout of the water temp, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage gauges
to flash when readings are out of optimum range. The warning points for
the gauges are adjustable as well.
