1968 Pontiac Firebird - Headers
Doug welds 1-7/8" tubing to a pair of Edelbrock D-Port
header flanges.
The header tubes feed into pre-formed, 16ga. steel, 4-way
collectors. The collectors, in turn, feed into 3.5 x 2.25-inch oval tubing
which will carry the exhaust to the mufflers.
Oval tubing was used to give greater ground clearance. Whe
it came time to hange the mufflers, it was decided that they hung too low.
something would have to be done about that.
Custom Spin Tech Performance mufflers.
In order to tuck the mufflers up under the rear of the frame,
we had to chop off the ends of the Spin Techs and modify the inlets and
outlets.
