Framed and Mounted.
No, that's not the motor that will eventually reside under
the birds hood, but for now it allows us to start working on engine and
transmission mounts. It will be replaced by a supercharged, aluminum blick
,800+hp monster from Butler Performance. The motor will be a Pontiac motor
as well--no Ford or Chevy powerplants for this bird.
As you can see, the new rear rails are set a bit further apart
than the originals.
Because of the horsepower that will be going in under the
hood, the framing will be beefed up just a bit. As mentioned earlier, this
will be a continuous frame, boxed, with some heavy-duty cross members.
