One might say the Chevy "Nomad" was the SUV of its
day. It was sporty, as signified by having only two doors, and it was a
utility vehicle because of its "wagon" design. Unfortunately,
it was unappreciated in its time, so not many were made relative to the
other tri-fives.
If you ever felt the need to get groceries in a big hurry,
this is the car for you. With a 500 cubic-inch, race-built big-block, it
will get you to the store and back in record time.
The wheels are Billet Specialties 17"x7" in front
and 17"x8" in the rear, with BF Goodrich G-Force tires.
This particular Nomad came to us with the race motor and drive
train already in it, but in severe need of body work and interior restoration.
We also added things like a Vintage Air A/C system, a sound system and more.
Outside the body and trim is 100% stock.
Inside, the all leather custom interior is was designed to
look as much like a stock interior as possible.
When men were men and the chrome was thick.
The tail gate is fully stock and operational.
The 1956 Nomad chassis sports a late model camaro front clip
for improved steering and handling, Willwood disc brakes on all four wheels,
drag race style 4-Link rear suspension by Chris Alston Chassis Works, and
touring shocks and springs for superb handling.
